It’s been so long since I’ve felt this kind of excitement. The kind where I’m jumping around and can’t even form words to tell the people around me (who are looking at me oddly) why I’m so flippin’ excited. That was my reaction when I read the email I’d waited 2 loooong weeks for that said, “Dear Amanda, Congratulations! We LOVE your work and are so excited to welcome you to ClickPro!”.
I’ve been actively pursuing this goal for about a year and a half and working towards it for much longer than that. A little background, Click Pro is a part of the parent company Click&Co which encompasses Clickin Moms, Click Magazine, Click Photo School, Click&Co Store, Click|Away, and Let The Kids Dress Themselves Blog. I’ve been a regular member of the Clickin Mom’s Forum/Community for 3+ years and I’ve learned an incredible amount of information there and enjoyed interacting and participating in projects and challenges. Becoming a Click Pro offers so many more valuable benefits and opportunities as well as a chance to teach others which is where my heart and roots are.
To apply, you have to submit a huge chunk of work (150 photos) and each photo is put through a rigorous critique process and scored on a rubric. The set of images is also critiqued as a whole to look for cohesion, consistency, and mastery of skills overall. It’s pretty intense to say the least. I’d put so much time, love, and energy into each one of the 150 images I was submitting (and the hundreds of others that had been added and then cut) that it became a bit emotional and nerve wracking sending it off to be tore apart by a panel of judges. It was all worth it though.
Here’s the link to my accepted set if you’d like to take a peek: CM Pro Accepted Set. It’s been a labor of love and I couldn’t have done it without the patience and support of my sweet husband.
I’m still in disbelief that I’m a part of this amazing group of photographers. You can check out our daily work at the CM Pro Daily Project.
